How can I see down here, and why am I not bumping into things?
As I was trying to explain earlier, you have several heightened senses, and additional capabilities that a human can hardly imagine.
In addition to your bulbous compound eyes, with enlarged photoreceptors, you have a second set of eyes, arranged like a triangle near the top of your head, called ocelli. These simply detect light and allow you to gauge your depth, and help you stabilize while in motion.
You are also, unconsciously, following a pheromone trail that you pick up with sensitive hairs, sensilla, on your antennae. They pick up the tell-tale protein signatures of the pheromones and tell you many things about the environment you're in. You also use the antennae to feel your way ahead.
Hmmm.
So I'm ant Daredevil.
